Cognitech Marketing
Overview:
Cognitech Marketing was developed from the ground up by McMillan. My role in the project consisted of CSS, XHTML and PHP development and production. The site was created in a modular fashion for simple site maintenance and layout modifications.
The .htaccess file was customized for clean URLs and also to affect the way the user interacts with and perceives the Website. Javascript libraries were used to produce the accordion in the website. This was later translated from one Javascript library to another which was an excellent exercise in code conversion.
BNB (Dunn and Bradstreet)
Overview:
Dunn and Bradstreet's home page needed a code clean up and layout modifications. I had revamped a lot of the code to make it standards compliant and reduced as much table layout as possible. The result was less code and easier site maintenance for future edits.
The homepage is content heavy and needed very precise measurements. There were many elements on the page that looked best with the use of tables. For this reason it was decided not to completely abandon table layout.
McMillan Mobile
Overview:
I developed the concept and design for McMillan's mobile site. PHP is used to populate the site from the same RSS feeds as the main site. There is also strong use of mobile compliant CSS and XHTML markup.
The mobile detect script was originally written in PHP and then translated to ASP .NET for server compatibility. My mission was to reach the lowest common denominator and leave no cell phone browser behind on this mobile experience.
Citizen Advocacy
Overview:
Citizen Advocacy is one of McMillan's pro bono accounts. I had the opportunity to completely redevelop the site from top to bottom with a new design. I wrote the markup with XHTML and CSS. PHP was used for their mailer scripts.
There was a lot of content in this project which made organization of assets, copy management, and editing an essential part to this project.
Catalyst Paper - Unfold Online email campaign
Overview:
When Catalyst Paper began a new email marketing campaign I was chosen to develop the template as well many of the original emails. Email safe XHTML markup was used to write the code. Intense testing in multiple email clients was done as well as deployment testing for spam ratings.
After deployment I would analyze and organize statistics reports on the success of the email. This would then be used to better manage and deliver future emails.
